Choosing where to place your baby is one of the most important decisions you can make.
Those precious few years from birth until they go to school are crucial in terms of brain development, social development and in the development of their motor skills (controlling the small and big muscles in their bodies)
Recently, I was introduced to Garderie Européenne – a daycare nestled in the heart of Fanar, surrounded by pine trees and fresh mountain air.
Dr. Pascale Goris, the owner, has over 10 years experience in managing daycares in Brussels, Belgium – brought her passion for professional child care to open Garderie Européenne.
I spent a day at Garderie Européenne openly allowed to visit each part of the daycare and to really feel the love and dedication you feel from the staff and teachers.
Here are the points that really stood out for me at this daycare:
THE NURSERY SECTION: (3 months to 10 months)
As a working mom, sometimes you don’t have many choices on where to place your baby once your maternity leave ends and you have to go back to work.
So choosing a nursery to let you go back to work and leave your mind at ease is what every working Super Mama needs.
At the Garderie Européenne, every bed (cot) in the nursery is equipped with a respiratory monitor and an alarm for maximum security.
The respiratory monitor, approved medically, aims to detect a respiratory arrest (apnea) in infants. It monitors permanently each baby’s breath and sounds a LOUD alarm if there is sudden stop in the baby’s breathing.
The machine picks up the micro-movements of your baby that the ordinary surveillance cameras does not see nor hear.
Super Mama sidebar: IN LOVE WITH THIS MONITOR! EVERY DAYCARE SHOULD HAVE THIS!!!!
Benefiting from the nature surrounding the daycare is exactly what they do!
Children get to explore nature and enjoy the fresh mountain air – an experience our children these days don’t get to feel all the time.
A new initiative they have recently started: Each child that enrolls in the daycare adopts a cedar tree (un cèdre) that has been planted. Older children water and care for a tree of a child in the nursery and younger sections.
Value added: Each child learns to share and care for something and someone else’s things. Once they graduate, this cedar will remain to grow and moved to a special nature reserve once the child graduates.
Different topics with a variety of activities promoting several skills such as motor development (fine & gross), language skills, social skills and other core skills they need in preparation for school years are the core of the Garderie Européenne’s teaching program.
Giving each child a strong educational foundation that can be built upon.
