L’Aventure d’une Maman Libanaise à Paris

Being chosen to represent my Beautiful Lebanon in the 5th Edition Spot Efluent that was held in Paris in November 2016 still leaves me speechless.

More than 100 international Mommy and Daddy bloggers from 15 countries, from Spain, Italy, Sweden, Romania, UK and so many more all met up from 28th  to 30th November in the city of lights at an amazing event organized by Paroles Des Mamans.

A beautifully organized event, that brought bloggers closer to brands, to the international community but most importantly inspired us all to give more.

REPRESENTING A COUNTRY THAT IS CONSTANTLY SHOWN IN NOT THE “BEST” WAY BY INTERNATIONAL MEDIA IS ALWAYS A CHALLENGE

Coming from a country that has passed through a “few” rough patches in history is always an adventure when meeting new people who only know of your country from what they see on the news.

Typical conversations throughout the event went as follows:

“Where are you from?”

“Lebanon”

After a perplexed first look, “They have bloggers in Lebanon? And your blog is not in Arabic?!?”

“Yup”

“And is it safe living in Beirut with all the terrorism you must face on a daily basis?”

Explaining the beauty of my Lebanon, far away from what you see in the news would never give the same effect as this breathtaking video … or check out more on http://www.livelovelebanon.com/

But back to my Parisian Adventure.

Now, in its 5th year, Spot Efluent is an event that has attracted bloggers, parents and companies from across France – but this year they went international 🙂

The ability to bring so many different nationalities, cultures and ideologies, with the beautiful city of Paris as a backdrop, is an experience I think we will all hold for a lifetime.

With international friendships formed that may lead to international collaborations… well stay tuned for that 😉

  1. I understand you perfectly. I´m mexican living in Spain and the question of security always appears.
It was a real honor to be part of Efluent5 and hope to repeat soon.
